Abstract
The present study investigated the impact of thalasemia on quality of life of adolescents as reported by mothers of children with thalassemia. It was hypothesized that there is a significant impact of thalassemia on quality of life of patients with thalasemia. Ex-post Facto research design was used to conduct the present study. In order to collect the data, non-probability purposive sampling strategy was used. The data was collected through Quality of life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ) O30 (Aaronson et al, 1993). A demographic questionnaire was also used T-test, ANOVA, Pearson product movement correlation were used for inferential analysis while descriptive statistics was also used for graphical representation. The results indicated that impact of thalassemia is grater on female patients, for those with rural background and in nuclear family system than those for the male patients, with urban background and with joint family system patients.
