Abstract The present study was conducted to investigate the depression, anxiety and stress among the caregivers of special children. The sample consisted of 50 caregivers from Amin Maktab School for special children, Lahore and Fazle-e-Umar Hospital Rabwah. Non-probability sampling was used to collect the data. Depression, Anxiety and Stress scale (DASS) by Peter Lovibond (1995), was used to collect the data after taking formal permission from the author. Independent sample t-test and factor analysis was applied for the comparison of the results, which showed the significant difference in the manifestation of depression, anxiety and stress among the caregivers of special children. Results also showed that care giving mothers are significantly more depressive, anxious and stressed than care giving fathers of the special children.
